Belt recommendation?

I am trying to find a nice, soft, pliable belt to wear with my jeans that actually stays up against my back and doesn’t stick out like some of the stiff ones do. Is there a particular brand you guys recommend? It’s so hard when ordering online since you can’t see or touch it in person!

Try looking at Brighton or even regular, non horsey belts.

Brighton belts are great!

I wear these from Riding Warehouse. My favorite is the wilderness pattern because it has cute animals and forest designs on it. https://www.ridingwarehouse.com/Unbelts_Intrepid_Elastic_Adjustable_Belt/descpage-UNIN.html?color=PR

But if you’re looking specifically for something to wear in western competition… good luck. Unless you get suede they are notoriously stiff.

My husband had a custom belt made for me with our brand on the tail, super thick plus it was lined and stitched with English leather. Took over a year of regular wear to get it broke in.
If you have a feed store or Boot Barn close by, go look at belts there, some brands aren’t as thick as others. I tend to look at men’s belts rather than women’s because they are hideous.
If you want spend some money, you could have a custom one made but specify you don’t want as heavy of leather as most makers use for belts.

Woven leather is pliable and gives you a perfect fit.

Me too!

What is the deal with women’s belts? Almost all of them look like something meant to wear to a rodeo dance or a country music concert. Ugh.

They definitely were not made for middle aged women like me I can tell you that!
And I lived through through the huge crystal stone, Kippy belt era. Lol!
(No concho belts though, that was the equivalent of white boot girls of now)

Quillen makes all types of belts.

Nice plain leather belts will take a little breaking in. Your local shoe repair place usually have some for sale they can size to fit you. (Who knew shoe repair places frequently make belts?)

The last two nice ones I got were Riding Sport and Tory.
