Belt recommendations!

I’m a petite rider and I need a couple of new belts. The problem is everything I have seen has huge buckles and a ton of bling. If I wear a huge belt buckle it just looks ridiculous.

I do have one of the C4 belts in all black and that works, but it feels a bit cheap.

Any recommendations for a subtle, 1-1-1/2" wide black belt?

Don’t bother looking for equestrian branded belts. Their quality never seems to match the price tag. Just look at other retail and clothing stores. Also look into the men’s sections to see if you can find a short enough belt. They seem to be the most toned down and professional looking.

Well, I just got a plain leather belt in the boys’ section of the department store!

Romfh makes a black belt with a subtle shimmer; it is really nice in person:

I also got the Equine Couture Lilly belt recently - it is embroidered with flowers, so has some interest without being sparkly, and coordinates really well with a variety of breeches and sunshirts for schooling.

Used to be, plain belts were easy to find. Belts.com is nice. I’m with you, OP. I hate blingy belts.

I also hate blingy belts. I’m of a certain age, too, and I don’t need any extra attention paid to my waistline. I’ve found nice belts at Belts.com.

I would check out http://www.cleverwithleather.com/ I bought one last year at Rolex and have been very happy with it.

You guys are awesome - this is so helpful!

Rebecca Ray Designs makes lovely, classy belts.

Redundant!

I have the Romfh belt. Its bad ass!!!
i thought it a lil stiff when it arrived. i’ve been wearing it to work to break it in and its turned buttery soft and doesn’t seem like one that has crap leather that will crack.
ive actually been meaning to order another because i like it so much.

oh, do a search. I got mine for 35 bucks.

Try Clever with Leather. Their classic belts are lovely AND low key.

For the record I wasn’t even belt shopping (I have a small belt addiction) and now that you all have posted these links I see about 4 more belts that I now NEED. Thanks for that…

I like the $8 stretchy black braided belts off Amazon. They look tidy and don’t make you feel like you can’t breathe on show day. You can get kids’ sizes if you’re petite.

I just got a small men’s https://www.amazon.com/Weifert-Stretch-Woven-Elastic-Braided/dp/B075XHRRQ7/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1521553455&sr=8-5&keywords=braided+stretch+belt

But they have kids’ sizes too- $5.50!

I don’t want to take this thread too off track but you all seem to be belt experts…

I have a “custom” belt that someone on Facebook made for me - it’s a black leather belt with a pre-made channel in it and I picked out the crystal colors to be added, kind of like a custom browband. I’d really like to get another one because the buckle is falling apart and a crystal is missing. I found 1 maker on Etsy, but anyone know of others?

My favorite equestrian belts from a small company in Boulder, Colorado. Anatomical cut and the regular buckles are not oversized: https://embrazio.com/collections/packages

Plus you can get a cute cell phone bag for your belt!

Awesome. I put a couple of these in my “save for later” basket. Good for hitting the free shipping threshold if I need it.

OK this is amazing - I am trying a couple: Rebbeca Ray, Embrazio and one from Eddie Bauer that was on sale for $24!

Will report back with results

Much in this same style of channel set crystals, People on Horses will make belts in their browband styles, and they are spectacular. However, they sure are not cheap! Last time I asked it was something North of $400

My favorite is my Cavallo belt, reversible with a sleek brushed silver buckle - white on one side, black on other. Bought on sale on some English equestrian wear site.

But honestly, the braided elastic ones are the most practical, and they don’t make a big bulge under your show jacket. Tip for petite/short-waisted peeps - get the belt in the same color as your top so your waist will look longer.
