Bengstton out, O'Connor in for SJ Final

Ralph Goren Bengstton has withdrawn his horse from the SJ final, so Cian O’Connor has moved up into the finals.

I am sorry Bengstton had to withdraw - his riding this week has been absolutely impeccable - beautiful, beautiful rider.

O’Connor, in the meanwhile, who only got to London because of the Denis Lynch debacle (similar to the current Canadian debacle), is hungry and despite this being a new partnership, will go all out to win.

This will be exciting!!! Remember '84? That was the most amazing class I’ve ever watched!!

Just came here to post! Well done Weatherford.

Terri

and a beautiful round for cian!

Made the most of his second chance. Beautifully ridden.

Anyone know what happened to Casall?

Does anyone know why O’Connor was selected from the 12 fault today riders to go on?

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that RGB is out, he is another one of my favorites. Weatherford, I remember the nailbiting finish of 1984.

Anyone know what happened to Casall?[/QUOTE]

Rolf-Göran Bengtsson has withdrawn from the Olympic final today. To WoSJ Swedish team vet Jonas Tornell explains that Casall has been withdrawn from the final after he did not trot up right at this morning’s vet check. During the second part of the team competition on Monday Casall stepped on himself right above the hoof on the outer part of the left front leg, and was not quite right afterwards. Tornell explains that Casall looked fresh again yesterday morning, and also when Rolf rode him this morning but when he trotted up today he was not fine. Casall was thus placed in the holding box, and Rolf was given the chance to show him again. Nevertheless Rolf decided to withdraw Casall and will thus not ride the final today.
