My research indicates that the greatest sport horse sire lines at least in the UK, Ireland, and North America tend to have come from winners of the St James Palace Stakes, which is a mile race.
Interesting.

Since this guys sire has a previous thread. He looks quiet nice and all be it a bit tense and green plenty of scope. Maybe a little fast and loose with his front end but hes clearly distracted and powering over the jumps. Iâd love to see him jumped under saddle and see how he goes.

He is a good sport for 1st and second show!
I think he is a lovely example of a horse bred 1/2 TB

And to add to that, in the UK thereâs the second-tier TB market (as compared to racing) for âshowingâ stallions. The most successful of these TBs cross over into SJ and eventing. Java Tiger is a good example of this type of stallion.
The old UK Horses in Sport (HIS) scheme promoted TB stallions to the sport world. Shaab was an HIS stallion. Louella Stud, home of Primitive Rising, also had a number of outstanding HIS stallions. This was a very good program, Iâm not sure if thereâs anything left of it today.
Speaking ofâŠI love, love, love this horse (I know nothing about breeding other than a cursory interest in thbds):
Thanks sisu!

Pure TB is high ranking sire of eventing horses
One of the best young jumping horses Iâd seen in some time was a TB owned by a local trainer. He was very green and just starting out and has sadly passed but he was a phenom.
I believe he was 17hnds but he jumped with the same super style and scope every jump. I think he would have had much to share and contribute had he made it into the show ring.

He was not mine and it was a huge loss for his owner
We talked about TB mares in this topic.
The Danish have a thoroughbred mare that produced a number of very nice riding horses, also for dressage. Her name is Miss Evergreen xx and she is by Prince Mab.

In Holland in the past there was a typical American bred horse bred by Paul Mellon. The KWPN approved him but after they had seen his foals he was rejected. However not all warmblood people were happy with this decision. Although he only sired a small number of foals still he left some nice sporthorses. He did not perform as well on the track as his breeder and owner(s) had hoped. In Holland he was also used by a number of racehorse breeders at the time. This is the horse: http://www.pedigreequery.com/man+in+the+moon

I bred three appendix quarter horses out of this daughter:

Arenât there many more horses like him I am wondering, also in America?
We also used to have Sit This One Out:

http://www.staldepluum.nl/paarden/dekhengsten/22/
His offspring were looked at by the KWPN a number of times but he was never rejected and at one point approved for life. However he never received any predicates.
And ofcourse there was Mytens xx, Spectacular Bid x Hoist the Flag. And there still is Wilawander xx I believe, who is half American, Nashwan x Danzig.
The Frenchman Bernard le Courtois likes TBâs very much, also some of the American TBâs (Hand in Glove):

You might want to consider Lotus T
If you want to add blood and refinement without compromizing size, power and jumping ability, you might Consider Lotus T: he is 70% TB.
