Best Automatic Cat Feeder

Hi everyone,

I am going on a little vacation (to the Keys:D:D), and need some help feeding my little porkers, er…felines.

Neither one can get free choice kibble as they will eat every last bit in one sitting. I will have someone coming into to check on them and refill water, clean the poo box, feed wet food, etc.

I would like to purchase an automatic feeder that can feed kibble every 6 hours or so, or even 12hrs. It needs to be thief proof, as the foster kitten still gets into everything!

I also don’t want to spend $100. Any suggestions?

I just bought this one. So far it’s been great, you can choose up to 3 feeding a day, at any time, portions from 1/4 cup to 2 1/2 I think. It’s reasonably priced.

Anteup - how hard would it be for a naughty kitten to break into the feeder?

I’m having the same problem; my 4-year-old cat is getting overweight (he’s 16 pounds now). The vet suggests that I should buy him an automatic feeder to keep the feeding under control. And since I also don’t spend too much of my time at home, it would be so convenient to have an automatic feeder. Any suggestion?

I have this feeder. Worked great when I just had a single cat. He would eat 2 x/day so I would just fill it up every other day. I now have 2 cats but am thinking about getting another and seeing if I can teach the cats to use their own feeder.

I paid around $30 because I wanted something for weekend trips.
