Having been here for 10 days and having learned a number of impossible to find anywhere but here hints I thought we could consolidate the bargains in one thread.
#1 transportation hint - take Lextran. Park at Coldstream Park (1/3 mile walk) or the IBM building for free and pay $1 to ride to the KHP. Parking downtown is $5-7/day. Lextran has the closest drop off to the main entrance. For $3/day you can get a daily pass and see more of Lexington.
If you drive to the park the UK Spindletop parking has the shortest walk to the shuttle and is very good about getting you out at the end of the day.
We parked in the IBM lot all 3 days! It was awesome!
If you retrieve your car late enough (and it was only a bit after 7 pm) the LexTran is free, or at least it was on Monday. There was no one there to take the ticket and money and the gate was up when I left.
The $1.20 chocolate bars in the KY experience to snack on later. Free coffee in the USHJA headquarters.
