Wish I could this a million times!
Seriously. I know I keep going on and on but I’ve bought strap goods for nearly 35 years. And the quality has in my opinion declined significantly over the past decade. And I’m speaking about the 250-600 dollar price point. This gorgeous bridle was $235 …. Delivered below $250. And those discretely rubber lined reins alone make it soooo worth it. The leather is robust yet supple. And not plasticy. My last bridle I bought from a big name retailer was over $325 and it rippled. Across the grain. This bridle reminds me of my old old Crosby or Courbette tack. Takes up oil readily without getting greasy and beautifully stitched.
A Black Diamond Bridle is now on my list once I get my year end bonus! (Which unfortunately is not paid until late Feb/early March.)
Well I’m buying one the MOMENT I pick up a new horse or lease. That is GORGEOUS
I can’t begin to express how much I appreciate the positive feedback. I am
just like every other adult amateur trying their hardest to do their best and look their nicest. I am working hard to keep the price point under $250. This is what helps get the word out that I exist and the product is out there
I am working with a few retailers now and learning these critical social media platforms but a 50 yo learning Instagram is like trying to teach a 2nd grader trigonometry.
It’s slow going, but have a tremendous support system, an awesome customer base who gives great suggestions and feedback and some wonderful mentors
That is STUNNING!
I don’t need a new bridle, but I’m ordering one anyway!!! I love good leather.
Can’t wait to see the unpadded wide nose one!
Would you be able to provide a bridle measuring for dummies tutorial so when our boy gets to come home I can order his new bridle?
TIA!
Horse size should be in this week!
I am working on a blog post on it for my website but I have a pre written set of instructions and pictures I send via email for anyone asking for help
It’s super clear and I can then give suggestions. I have all the sizes written down with ranges of smallest to largest settings but based on what customers send me then I can mix and match pieces to see how we can obtain the best fit
Here is what I send but I am working on getting it on my website with pictures and the sizing ranges along with the current size chart that tells you the sizes of the pieces. (The size chart is already on there but not the size ranges comparable to the measurements above )
Happy to help with sizing. The best thing to do would be to send me 4 measurements from a well fitting bridle. Then I can help determine the best fit.
The four most important measurements are-
1- browband from the inside not including the loops that the crown goes through
2- the circumference of the noseband from the tongue of the buckle to the most used hole
3- the length of the headstall (cheeks and crown) starting at the bit over the top of the head to the bit on the other side
4- the split to split on the current crownpiece (that is the area that goes across the horses poll. The split on a bridle is where the wider piece that goes across the poll “splits” into the tab for the cheekpieces and throatlatch and on my bridle the noseband as well. So from the split on the one side over the poll to the split on the other side.
With those measurements I can let you know what sizing I think would work best for your horse!
I also offer Build a bridle option that lets you mix and match any pieces in whatever size necessary for a “custom” fit. There is a flat $25 charge for the build a bridle option. I can also send a size chart to help you see what length my pieces are. All my bridles are generously sized. They do not run small.
I appreciate all the questions everyone is asking. I’m very close to making a decision. Here is my question …. Would one be able to purchase a wide, unpadded noseband without fancy stitching? Thank you!
I am not able to do that yet because the unpadded one is so new. I have found making changes to new product yields an entire shipment of no fancy stitching on them so I hesitate to ask for a production change like that yet. Probably in a year or so I could offer that as an option. I’m sorry. I wish that was a simple option for me to offer.
That is not a show stopper at all.
Gorgeous bridles! Definitely putting one on my list for the next time I “need” a bridle, especially with the ability to mix and match sizes. I recently bought a used Silver Crown bridle that is also Sedgwick leather and I really like it, so I’m glad to know about another option. I’ve also been coveting a flat hunt bridle (for reasons), so now I definitely know where to go.
Edited to add: plaited reins are my absolute favorite (other than to clean, but they are worth it) and I just saw the matching browband. Definitely going on the list!
LOVE plaited reins!!
Ohhh, I am in love with the A-nut. Definiately going for one of these when Babygirl get’s her show bridle.
The flat hunt bridles are so gorgeous. That was actually my first bridle from Amy. And after sitting around for three years in a bridle bag with minimal care and cleaning, it looks this good. (It got a good clean/condition after this ride.)
I’m looking forward to finally getting to show in it again this year
This is gorgeous too!
Bridle arrived yesterday and it is lovely! I’m already impressed. Running out to the tack store today to grab some oil and will give it a drink per her instructions then will share photos!
