Best deal on 3 step mounting block

So I’m thinking of getting one for my parents for X-mas. The only thing is I’m on a really tight budget.
My mom told me that they have been having trouble mounting their two 17+h horses (now that it’s cold and there is 40 layers of clothing in the way) and the plastic chair they have been using finally died. It doesn’t have to have any fancy storage bins or anything, just a basic 3 step block. Does anyone know if there are any good sales/coupons out there? I think I’m going to wait until Black Friday weekend to see if there is anything then. But I figured I’d ask the pro shoppers on COTH. The lowest I can find is $100 with free shipping. TIA!

We got ours at Tractor Supply for around $80.00 last Christmas.

We got ours at TSC, too, about 2 months ago for the same price. TSC is having a Black Friday sale, but I don’t know if mounting block is included.

Great thanks guys!

I use this:

It’s very sturdy and much taller than the standard “mounting block-style” 3 step blocks. I have a bum knee and a giant skitterish horse and need to be practically stepping across into the stirrup (rather than up into it) to avoid disaster.

All the mounting block style ones I could find were shorter than this and more expensive.

Thanks, but it will have to be left in one of their paddock/grass riding areas and the horses have access to it (even though they never really are down there). Or else that would be a good idea.

Okay! The fact that they were previously using a plastic chair made me think that a traditional block wasn’t necessary.

I use a picnic table as a mounting block. Maybe they have one kicking around?

Ha, they only used a chair because the giant boulder they had been using had to be relocated. My mom can get on Belle (17.2h) bareback from the ground… but with so many layers on it’s getting tougher. No picnic table, but funny you mentioned it- I was mounting once off a picnic table that was old and it fell apart under me. Thankfully I was pretty much on and the horse didn’t move an inch.
