Best Diaper or Pads For Overnight Doggy Incontinence

My elderly shepherd has started dribbling urine. Daytime is not a problem as I can just wipe the hard floors, however she likes to sleep on carpet at night and she will soon ruin the new carpet.

Does anyone use doggy diapers and if so brand recommendations?
I’ve even thought of using the human diapers and the heavy overnight pads inserted inside them.

My vet gave us some Proin but I’d prefer not to use it due to potential organ damage.

Any help is appreciated. TIA

One thing you can try is seasonal panties with a heavy duty pad in them. They’re made to be comfortable for a female to wear while in season. I like to have two pair, so that one can be worn while the other is being washed. Just remember to always take them off before letting her outside!

Maybe you can find something shepherd specific for her?

I agree, use the diaper cover/panty thing and put a human incontinence pad inside it. They come in various capacities for lack of a better word so you can buy them for a person who has no ability to hold it at all if needed. Then just swap the pad out for a dry one. Diapers made especially for dogs are stupid expensive, like $2 each where you can get like 50 of the pads for $10 or so and put them in the diaper cover.

Also might want to buy a couple hospital bed underpads. Overnight in a doggy diaper might create opportunity for urine scald.

The incontenence pads do a good job of keeping their skin dry. I am sitting here watching two dogs literally having a pissing contest on the corner of my sofa as we speak. They have lifted their legs and peed at least six times each in the past few minutes. Thank God for belly bands!
