A pink dummy being lowered from a helicopter overhead was a bit of a puzzle when watching during the Dress Rehersal for the 2012 Opening Ceremony. It only made sense on watching the ceremony on TV and I actually gasped “It is the Queen!” when the person in the pink dress first turned round. I vaguely recall something about the corgi doing tricks was her idea.
