I had a pair of Grand Prix half chaps that I must have used for 5+ years before I wore holes in the leather and started having zipper problems. Super durable, couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

I wear out Tredstep half chaps really fast, which is too bad, because they fit me well. I was gifted some Beval half chaps years ago, and I love them except that they were a little too wide because they were in the gifter’s size. I recently replaced them but the elastic panel is much wider in the new Beval chaps, so after one ride they are too big, especially at the ankle, which is much less tapered. Too bad because I’ve ridden in them, but if they last as long as my first pair (which are still in better shape than any of my Tredstep pairs), it will be worth it to send them back to Beval for alterations, namely, getting a lot of that elastic panel removed.
I have Dyon and absolutely love them. They have held up great over the last two years of heavy use. I had to replace one zipper but I think it breaking was more my fault then the zippers.
If the Tredstep Deluxe is too pricey, try the Tredstep Liberty side zip. Less expensive, same great fit.
I will be the voice of dissent and express my hate for Tredsteps. I had a pair years ago that wore like iron and I loved them. I then went through 2 pairs in less than a year with just moderate use. I’m talking split seams and holes after seeing 1-2 horses 4-5 days per week. I love them. They’ve held up so much better than the Tredsteps. After a year and a half only the elastics are starting to show signs of wear.

I’ll second those Grand Prix! I love mine. I had some durability / wearing out problems with my Treadsteps, and switched over. No problems since!
