I have an 18hh hard-to-fit Belgian that needs a new blanket. I am having a hard time finding one that fits well. He has a “Big Fella” blanket from Schneider’s and lengthwise it’s fine but it’s too wide up front. I tried a Weatherbeeta 87" which was too narrow in front and barely made it down to his belly
I feel your pain. My 17.2 hand Clyde X TB cross has the same issue - blankets rarely cover all the way down his sides. My guy wears an 84"/85". You might try a Rambo - of all my horses blankets, that is the blanket that fits the best overall. Its a standard blanket - no high neck or anything. Rhino is the other brand that might work (made by the same company as Rambo) - Horseware Ireland. Good luck.

i have a 17.1 TB x Belgian and need to be buying a blanket, like real soon. Also looking for options and appreciate any additional comments for sizing.
Blankets that fit both the front end and the back end is what I’ve found most problematic. My horse really takes after his Clyde mom - huge butt, shorter body, really round barrel - but he is not equally wide chested (I guess he got that from his Thoroughbred dad).
You may have to try several before you (and the horse) are happy with the fit. Throw a bed sheet over the horse before putting the blanket on to try it, to keep it clean so you can return it. So leave all tags on and don’t worry with the leg straps if they are packaged separately.
And I suggest getting a Sleazy Shoulder Guard. No matter the blanket brand or fit, they rub my horses shoulders, and these will prevent loss of hair, sores and discomfort They do make them in a size big enough for a draft. I love mine.

Following- @Milocalwinnings I could have wrote your post verbatim. Luckily, my Percheron doubles as a yak and only needs her blanket(the 90"Big Fella) occasionally during the winter.
Not to derail, but if anyone has suggestions on 90" coolers I would love some suggestions. Right now she squeezes into the 87" Weatherbeeta fleece cooler but a larger one would be great!

I have a 90" rainsheet and a mid-weight for my big guy. Love the quality. They are holding up awesome!!
I know you said you have a Big Fella, and that is what this is, but my horse is narrow (he is a Trekehner/perch cross) and when I cinch the buckles all the way up and cynch up the velco side-straps it works great.
Just wonder if yours might not have the neck strap/gusset things? they make a huge difference.
Otherwise, I had an 87 for him I got from Smartpak - think it was their name brand. Worked great also, but he obliterated it.
