Best flysheet for horse that gets blanket rubs

My gelding is miserable because of the bugs. He has lumps everywhere from insect bites, but his current Saxon sheet is giving him rubs on his shoulders.

Something with UV protection would be nice because he is black and had faded significantly since the summer started.

My mare gets minor shoulder point rubs from winter blankets by the end of the season, and every fly sheet I’ve tried so far has her shoulder points raw with some blood drawn within 24 hours.
I have a liner I used this past winter, but I feel like it may be too hot under a fly sheet even just over-night (Florida).

The Rambo fly buster with the silky shoulders has left no marks so far on my horse, who has gotten blanket rubs in the winter before. It also works great and has held up well.

Horseware Amigo or Rambo! Both have silky shoulders and stay on better than any other rug I have owned.

I have three different fly sheets I rotate - they all rub in different areas. Some need a Bossy’s Bib underneath. But rotating helps prevent any one rub getting too bad.

Anyone had luck w the HUG fly sheets?

I feel like I tried every fly sheet available, including Amigos and Rambos, and everything rubbed on the point of her shoulders. (SmartPak hates me for the number of sheets that I returned to them.)

I finally tried Weatherbeeta’s “summer sheet,” which is half super light weight sheet and half mesh fly sheet. It has substantial padding at the withers that seems to keep the sheet from getting too tight at the shoulder. I was worried that it would be too warm, but it doesn’t seem to be any different from all mesh fly sheets. It also annoyingly only has a little “belt-like” attachment at the chest that comes completely off (i.e., easy to lose), but I’m willing to put up with those things to get a fit that doesn’t rub.

A sewing machine is your best friend. I have modified several fly sheets over the years to fit better and prevent rubs. I just use a heavy duty needle to go through the nylon straps. I have also sewed a piece of satin material in the shoulder area to prevent rubs.

I really love my Saratoga
