Best hunter bridle with a wide padded noseband?

I am trying to track down a high quality hunter bridle that comes with a 1" (or wider) padded noseband. It needs to be fancy stitch, dark leather (or stain-able).
Edgewood makes one, but it’s just not the right fit.

LOVE the nice European brands like Hadfield, Arc De Triomphe, but I’m coming up empty on padded nosebands! They seem to either be 1" with no padding, or 3/4" with padding.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!!!

Wellfleet has a 1" one: Bridle

I recently bought a Wellfleet bridle & it seems really nice!

I have the Wellfleet one (well the old style they put on clearance a few years ago) and I really like it. I would say it’s about a half step down in quality from the Edgewood I had (if that makes sense, there is no good rating system for this kind of thing). My only disappointment is that one cheek piece wrinkled rather than softened completely when oiled. If I had paid full price I would have asked for a replacement.

I use the cob Wellfleet on my large-ish (14h) pony and although we’re obviously not hitting the A circuit (adult on pony here) I think it looks great on him. He has a very type-y but somewhat large head so it gives the illusion of scaling things down a bit (and no, they don’t run small - I used some Vespucci pony bridle pieces because we’re between sizes).

I don’t think the Wellfleet is padded, although it does seem nice. My wide noseband bridle of choice is the Aramas. Nice and generous crownpiece and browband without check pieces being to long. Nice and deep dark, without any reddish. However, it is not padded either.

Just a personal opinion, but wide noseband plus padding, ick too much. Too dressage-y.

Oh you are right, it is not padded. It looked like it to me but now I see it’s just raised.

What about an AdT Starman or Eros? The flash is 100% removable.

Check out the Nunn Finer bridles on their website – I just bought their Caterina wide noseband bridle (no padding) for my hunter, and am really pleased with it, and I think they make a padded version. Seems to be good quality for the price point (around $300). FYI, if you get one that is pretty dark to begin with, you may not want to oil it, mine darkened more than I expected!

I second the Aramas ones. I always compliment people’s wide noseband bridles and they will be like its Aramas! And im like shouldve known!!

Love the Aramas - it and the Nunn Finer Caterina look extremely similar, my sister has one, and at a glance you would have a hard time distinguishing the look of it and my NF. Tenney’s in FL seems to have a good amount in stock of the Aramas line.

I am in love with this one!

Jimmy’s and Edgewood are it. I like the Huntley bridles too.
