Best Hunter Stallion for movement

Totally agree with VABred and thanks for recommending our 14hh stallion, Smoke Tree Sgameful Thief. While I do know a couple of breeders that breed their small pony mares to much larger stallions, I personally would never do so on a first foal. I breed my small mares to produce a top of the line small on the first foal. I feel comfortable going up in size on future foals if the mare does well during the first pregnancy and delivery. If she were mine, I would breed her to our Land’s End Adagio for her first foal. He’s 13.1, all imported bloodlines and would give you a quiet, fancy small. There are other stallions in his size range that could give you that size. If all goes well with the first foal, I would then consider a larger purebred for a medium. If your mare is a GRP, she may have some hidden size in her pedigree which will make it harder to predict foal size if you breed her to another crossbred.

There isn’t a horse on the planet that can compete with the movement of a great moving pony, I don’t know why you would want to breed up and risk your mare and risk getting a hony by breeding to a horse.
