Hi! I am 66, my husband is 67. We r in good physical shape, 5’6" & 5’8", respectively. I have two well behaved show minis (As) & we want to start taking them to nursing homes so I need a trailer/ truck bed hauler. I have a 2016 RAM Quad Cab 4X4 EcoDiesel. I am considering the truck hauler design of Bob’s of Vacaville. Is it a problem using these because u have to stoop over? I will lash my overland Frey cart to the truck tailgate in some fashion. Can anyone help me with this? My RAM will haul a horse trailer just fine but being able to not trailer with Bob’s that have ramps,

we have a standard two horse bumper pull, then added a lower mounting bracket for the middle divider that allows us to either have the divider at Horse height or lowered to Mini Horse height …our smallest is 25 inch

Standard height allows us to easily load/unload and get to stored items in the trailer
We also have a two horse BP we trailer our minis in. We had a removable grill made to attach where the chest bar is to keep them from getting to.the front of the trailer and also had tie rings welded on at a lower level. In order to use it for my big pony, we just have to pull two pins and lift of the grill. For our cart, we haul it in the bed of the truck and use ramps we purchased at Tractor Supply to make loading easy. I like using the trailer as it gives me more room to work, store stuff and a place to change at shows. I also think my minis would be claustrophobic in a horse hauler, they like their “space”.
Another vote for a simple 2-horse bumper pull or tiny stock trailer. I have a 2-horse with mangers that is only 10’ long, and while not suitable for every horse, it works for my little guys and my goats. I LOVE hauling it, it is so small and maneuverable. The axles are far enough back from the hitch that it doesn’t go crazy when backing up, I can fit it anywhere, I have no concerns taking it into a crowded parking lot. It doesn’t have a noticeable effect my fuel economy, either.
