Best Muck Boots?

After probably thousands of miles of walking in my last muck boots, they have about bit the dust.

I got a pair of Noble Outfitters muck boots about 8 months ago, and they were great… but I was very hard on them. Part of me wants to think they should’ve last longer before there was splitting (now when I step in mud, it leaks into my boots…) but another part says that no muck boot could’ve withheld that abuse.

Here are the ones I have: http://www.doversaddlery.com/muds-tall-boot/p/X1-380260/

Does anyone have any recommendation of a different kind that have lasted you or you think would be better? Need something absolutely waterproof and for mud, mucking stalls, etc.

Thanks!

Muck Boot Brit Colt. Too bulky to ride in, but great snow and mud boots. Horrific winter here and feet never got cold or wet. Got a great deal on new ones on eBay a couple of years ago.

I swoon over my Muck Boots. Seriously. When I was a girl I wouldn’t get out of the creek and I would always come inside soaking wet, not sure why I was obsessed with that creek, so my mom got these for me and not once did I get wet! (Unless I went into the deep parts where the water was way deep…:D)

As an adult I still love mine. Keep my feet warm and dry every winter!

I had these Mudruckers for about 8 years.

I finally replaced them this winter because, well, really no good reason. I just wanted some new, less smelly muck boots. They’re now my backups (that I keep at the barn for quick stop-ins when I’m in work clothes ) and I now I have a pair from the “Original Muck Boot Company”. Basically the same idea and I can’t say that I prefer one over the other, except that I’ve only had the new ones for about 6 months.

I own a shorter pair of Boggs that I got on sale. They’re so comfortable I would wear them for non-horse purposes in the winter…but I spare my non-horsey friends that smell in a closed car!

I have the Muck Boot Reign Mid and I LOVE THEM. http://www.muckbootcompany.com/product/Womens-Reign-Mid-Equestrian-Boot/WEQUEST

I have them in brown and purple and black. I got the brown pair in October and wore them constantly! Walking the dog, going to and from work, hiking, barn chores, riding - they are my “go to” boot.

Now why do I have two pairs? The brown pair got a split in them. It wasn’t really noticeable - my feet got a bit damp but I thought I was just sweaty! But I contacted the company and they sent me another pair of boots, no questions asked. VERY happy. I still wear the brown boots, and now I have a second pair for really wet days or when I plan to go stand in a steam with the dog.

I ride in mine and they are great. I use them both western and english. If I was doing any “real” riding I would put on boots and half chaps, but for your average wtc flat ride they work just fine.

I have Kamik Olivias and the rubber is soft enough that it doesn’t seem like it would split very easily. I got a farrier’s nail through the bottom of my last pair so can’t say for sure how long they will last, but I like them enough that I went back and got another pair.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I found these bogs that are cheaper… think these would be just as good?

Be careful with handles on the Bogs, OP… Mine wore out. They started pulling and the neoprene started coming apart. I had them for a couple of years before that happened though.

From what I’ve heard from people with bogs, they are okay but not great. They do the job, but nobody LOVES them.

I just have to throw in a recommendation for the Noble Equine MUDS boots!!! They are literally the most comfortable mud boots I’ve ever worn. Much more flexible than Muck Brand, and they have a winter version and a summer version.
