Best Online Websites for cheap horse tack

Can anyone give me good recommendations for cheap, but quality tack items?

My preference is gently used second hand on high end items. CL FB rummage sales and consignment.

I really haven’t seen truly lower priced items in English tack that have the same quality and fit as the better brands.

I buy off of eBay or from consignments to the Dallas/Fort Worth Tack Exchange or Charlotte’s Saddlery in Texas.
Because I always get good tack at a fair price. Also, reputable companies that refund money if a purchaser is not satisfied.

I will echo buy quality used tack. These items are made to last decades, new cheap tack lasts a year or two. They will look and feel cheap as well.

Are you looking for anything specific? I tend to find affordable brands that I like and then look for sales and bargains. I also keep my eyes open for discontinued items from quality brands… I’ve gotten some really nice high end stuff for cheap that way.

Tack of the day sometimes has some good deals.

Ebay or FB used tack groups, Tack of the Day, look for clearance deals on good brands.

Some brands I like that are great quality for the price are Bobby’s Tack for bridles, Roma saddle pads, Romfh breeches. Riding Warehouse and Stateline Tack often have better prices than other sites if there is something specific you need and can’t find used or for things like wormers, supplements, fly spray, shampoo.

Riding Warehouse currently has an end of year blow out - I think it is 20% off everything. I look for closeouts on high quality stuff, or used high quality - have also found through the years that cheap stuff is - cheap. In the long run, good quality lasts so much longer, fits better, feels better.

NetEquestrian has blow outs throughout the year - I’ve gotten Rambo blankets for $125 (and they last for a decade!), Weathabeeta fly sheets for $25, etc. You just have to keep an eye on their website, they don’t actually announce the deals, and sometimes the stuff sells out fast.

Tack of the Day - you have to check in daily - sometimes the deal isn’t so great, other times it is fabulous. I got my latest One K helmet for half off. Have picked up Rhino blankets for half off too.

Divoza has some great deals on breeches and jackets all through the year. I buy my breeches from them and got my Cavallo boots from them for half of the US pricing - realize shipping is 50 Euro, so it isn’t worth it for one small item.

Facebook has some used tack sites too. When I needed a pony bridle, I found a dealer on one of the FB sites selling nice quality bridles, Kieffer and Albion, for about half of retail.

Sign up for newsletters - sometimes Smartpak or Dover or Divoza has an email discount - you won’t know about it if you don’t get their emails. And remember - if you sign up for your USDF membership (PM) before the end of the year, they are giving a Smartpak coupon ($15).

I have an online tack store that I started because I couldn’t believe the mark up prices that big name stores had. I currently offer a few brands, like HKM, Kavalkade, K9 Horse, and a few others. Some brands allow me to give discounts and others don’t. Since I don’t keep many items in stock, it keeps my costs down. Basically, to save money, you may have to wait about 5-6 days to get your items. I try to give as much of a discount as possible since horses are so expensive. I also have a full time office job that pays for my bills, so I do the tack thing on the side, which also helps in allowing me to offer affordable prices.

I will contact an admin to see if it would be considered advertising and against the rules for me to post my company’s name.

ETA: just got permission!

My website is topnotchtack.com

Feel free to email me or send me a FB message with any item that you might be interested in
