Best Place to Buy Plastic Jumps

Looking for suggestions as to where to buy reasonably priced plastic jump standards and poles (we are in MA). We have historically purchased wooden ones from a local person, but getting tired of the upkeep (painting) and the beating they take from the out of doors. We don’t need anything fancy (plain schooling standards are fine). I looked at a few places online and had sticker shock, but I know that they should last longer than wood. Any suggestions?

You can make them yourself by just buying some vinyl/PVC fence posts, caps and make a star base out of pressure treated 2X6s that the fence post fits into. Then drill holes for your jump cups. No clue if two made yourself will save you anything over a pair of standards bought online.

I lucked into mine when a friend stopped riding, so am not terribly helpful for shopping, but just a little half-halt on PVC standards: they blow over. Mine are fancy wings, so schooling standards may be better, but even with bricks stuffed in the bottom supports, they blow. It’s a giant pain. 4Leaf’s design is interesting - might solve the problem.

Jump 4 Joy USA has the best PVC jumps and lots of styles and options. Jump4joyusa.com. They are heavy enough to stay standing and the poles are heavy enough so the horses still feel them when they hit them and don’t start pulling rails.

I forgot to add that you can make poles/rails by just going to Loews or Home Depot and getting pvc pipe from the plumbing section. They will cut it for you if they don’t have the correct length. And there is a solvent that takes the printing off the pipe so it will just be white - though my old brain isn’t remembering what that is (maybe rubbing alcohol or fingernail polish remover?). Anyway, it was something I had on hand.
