Best place to sell cart?

What is the best place to sell a Meadowbrook cart and harness? My mom wants to get rid of hers (it was once my grandmother’s) and its been sitting out in our indoor covered/unused for a few years. Suggestions?

Also, she can’t seem to remember what size it is. Is there someway we can measure?

Selling a cart takes just the right timing
it may not sell the first time you list it, but it seems that if its in decent shape, then eventually everything will sell

So, where to sell the cart
Are you near Houston or Dallas
There are carriage driving clubs near both those areas
Im sure there are others in TX, but those are the ones I know

You can go to the American Driving Society website and check the regions for local club listings for the contacts
Most clubs have some kind of newsletter with classifieds

Additionally you can try craigslist
Im not personnallly a big fan of that but some have found it works and is area specific

Also the Carriage Driving List (CD-L)
does free classifieds. Its nationwide, and you have to sign on to it
Be sure to state the location of the cart

How about Chronicle Classified!

Thank you! It’s quite nice and when I have some time over the weekend I’m going to polish it up to take pictures for the ad! I honestly don’t think it will be a problem to sell…it might take time, but, it’ll sell eventually! I wish we would have had the chance to use it! It would’ve been a blast!

Include the wheel diameter and shaft length in your description

CD-L List

You probably don’t want to show photos of it tipped back like that.

I agree you need pics all around up on a stand, etc. But showing it tipped up at least shows it has been stored up, rather than down on the shaft tips where they wouldd have become warped.

Yip

When I sold my 4-wheel a number of years ago, i found it helpful to include the size of horse it was used for: ie driven w/ a 15 hand horse - or whatever. Also I would have a number of pictures handy for those who are interested, close ups of any nicks, seat condition, etc.
Cant remember what site I used, ( I think ADS) but in a weird “small world” story, I was contacted in Ohio by someone in Rochester NY; turns out he boarded at the same barn I had been at, remembered the carriage and ultimately bought it!

Thank you for the advice! It has never ever been used on a horse. It was purchased brand new and has been stored since. The horse it was purchased for died unexpectedly and we just had no use for it. The harness I have was used for a fine driving class at Arabian shows–it is black patent with green trim and doesn’t go with the Meadowbrook cart.

I’ll post it everywhere that was mentioned! Thank you all!
