Usedsaddles.ca
she takes the same commission on all saddles, $200. Best to sell there.
Most tack stores will not trade. Sprucewood told me they would when I was buying my new dressage saddle, once the sale had been made, they decided not to take my saddle for a trade. It was a no name low end saddle.
Most placed will charge 25% commission. Usedsaddles.ca sounds like the best deal. Plus she handles all trials and exchanges for you. Super easy.
Selling on your own, I sold mine within a few days on Facebook, posted in about 6 different groups though.
I doubt you will get a straight trade, I would NOT go to Bakers. They require a boutique type of style now. You MUST have an appointment so he can tell you that you have no money and can’t afford his tack. Plus he will tell you what fits your horse without seeing the saddle on the horse. Its rather disturbing. People who are looking for saddles are not going to him because its become a hassle. I would prefer to be able to look on my own and decide from there going forward. He’s losing business this way, and your saddle would just sit. Plus the mark up would be insane and probably not sell.
Bahrs has a great saddle selection, not sure of their commission percentage though.
Kijiji never fails though. I don’t know ebay, but its been good to me when I buy things.
