Best prices - online pharmacy?

My horse was just diagnosed with KS and will need to be on methocarbamol and previcox long-term. I’ve checked prices at Valley Vet, Drs. Foster and Smith, and petmeds, are there any others out there that I’m missing?

Wow, they are quite a bit cheaper than Valley Vet. Thank you!!

 You’re welcome!!

I use entirely pets… They always have good coupons and free shipping!

KVVet and Heartland are worth price checking. I like to only buy from VIPPS certified pharmacies.

I have a KS horse also recent diagnosed. I had him injected and doing rehab. I wondered if anyone else was using methocarbamol and if they experienced any issues with stumbling or drowsiness in their horse. I worry about being on him under the influence of this muscle relaxant?

Alivet is also worth a look.

Oops, ancient thread. Got me!! 😮

No, @scarbro1957 it generally doesn’t have that effect.

Santa Cruz has great prices and fast shipping BUT they changed their policy to all RXs will be shipped via air, which means any price savings on the meds will be negated by shipping charges. This happened about a year ago–so I stopped getting RXs from them; perhaps they’ve changed their polices again (for the better).

Before my KS horse had surgery, we injected, did shockwave, etc. etc. I also decided to give Robaxin a try. My horse is an absolute slug at home and in the schooling ring, but without fail, a very very forward speed horse in the show ring. I gave him a dose in the evening and jumped a few jumps at home the next day, and he felt fine (slow and lazy, per usual). Gave him another dose that night and went to show the next day. Again, all felt normal in the schooling ring. But went into the show ring and he was the same slow, lazy slug I had at home and in the schooling ring. Had to kick to get down the lines and to continue through the turns. So while I didn’t have any concerns about him stumbling or not jumping, the Robaxin clearly affected him in a way that I did not like.

I’ve used it on other horses and have never had this issue, so I doubt it’s a common result, but it definitely changed the behavior of this horse.

I order most things from Heartland Vet Supply. They often have coupons that will apply to Rx orders too.
