Best riser pads? Shimming? Or do I need a new saddle?

My saddle is starting to tip back on my big yellow horse as he builds muscle/fills out. The tree is the correct shape for his big shoulders, but his back is extremely long and very flat/level…unlike any horse I have ever ridden. I am thinking a bit of a riser pad might be the best option, but I don’t know what kinds to try. Or is it better to shim the saddle? Or am I likely wrong and need an entirely new saddle?

I’d have a fitter out. My thought would be that the front now has less space so the front end is rising up making it look like the back is low. A rear riser pad will restore a level appearance but the saddle is still too narrow up front and you may end up with a ouchy horse. Depending on the saddle, if it is a narrow issue widening a tree is typically an easy thing.

The gullet is the correct shape/width for his shoulders, it’s the panels that are the problem. I think the tree was a bit on the wide side before, but he has also leveled out a bit with his back. He is a very oddly built horse. Giant shoulders, then a petite/greyhound like body that is very level along the back. I should take a picture…he is hard to describe.
