best saddle pad for senior with slight sway back

I am riding my senior horse who does not have any lameness issues and is happy being ridden and isn’t acting up. He has a sway back and I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a good pad for this condition. Thanks!

Music (29) has a swayback, and has also lost a lot of flesh around the withers, while still having a wide back

I use a foam half-pad with an extra layer in the front. I forget who makes it. maybe Wintek.

Sway back.

I had a TB with a sway, no issues but I wanted to make her as comfortable as possible so I used a pure wool sheepskin 1/2 pad on top of a cotton one.

If you’re dealing with a slight sway (very slight) a memory foam half pad may be the way to go.

Also a shimmable half pad is a good option. It will allow you to correct the saddle fit to an extent and make the horse more comfortable.

Use one or more wedge pads. Sway back is a serious conformation flaw, however, and it should be regarded as a limitation that if disregarded can lead to significant discomfort for the horse.
