New to the west coast and looking for recommendations on the best Seattle eventing barns to board 1 horse. Would want to be able to have reputable trainer for lessons on site (dressage/jumping), daily turnout, ability to tag along for hauling to horse shows (do not own my own trailer yet) and fun atmosphere. Ideally, enough land for conditioning and hacking out. Hoping for less than 40-60 minute commute from downtown Seattle. Would love recommendations.
You have some decent options in the area!
Capstone Training with Whitney Spicher is near Snohomish, it looks to be within you commute distance so I would check it out for sure. https://www.capstone-training.com.
Also Brackenhollow with Joanna and Duschka is in the area too http://brackenhollowstables.com
Polestar Farm with Meika Decher is slightly father out. http://polestarfarm.com/
There is also Aspen Farms which is gorgeous and Caber Farm but both are probably too far to commute.
I think Full Gallop Eventing is also within your commuting distance. Marc and Erin are great instructors, successful riders, and really nice people(!) and they seem to have a solid program for people and horses of all ages and abilities. http://www.fullgallopeventing.com/index.html
Throwing a few more into the mix that have a generally good rep based on experiences of friends of friends -
Maris Burns and Kelsey Devoille with Next Level Eventing at Two Mountain Farm in Carnation/Duvall area
Jordan Lindstedt at Hawkwind Farm in Duvall
Karen O’Neal at Reber Ranch in Kent along with Freedom Run
Anne Ryan at Stoneybrook in Kent/Covington/Auburn area
Michelle Pestl with Napoleon Eventing at Bauernhof in Enumclaw
Happy hunting! Hope you will report back, OP, and let us know where you decided to go!
I totally do NOT recommend Brackenhollow for boarding!
Full Gallop is full, not sure about a waiting list tho.
Jordan’s barn is very nice. not sure if it’s full or not. It’s a bit further out than Full Gallop.
Check out Maris Burns place- Two Mountains farm. She advertised it on FB the other day with availability for board. It was on the NW Rider’s Classifieds page.
Good luck!
