Best show clothes for the heat

What show clothes do you find keep you coolest? Ideally I’d like to find stuff that’s not $500 a pop, but it’s horse stuff so …

I have a medical condition that makes me especially affected by heat, and I do all the usual tricks when riding at home but they’re not all compatible with horse shows. And luckily I live in the Rockies so summers typically aren’t quite as bad. I’ll also be reaching out to USEF about potential medical dispensations (I might be fine if I can just get early ride times or jacket waived?) but anyway, curious what you guys like!

First off, I’m in Utah, and I dont think I’ve been to a show in the summer in years either here or in Colorado where coats haven’t been waived. (Up front, in the prize list.)

However, the next line of defense if I’m feeling like a shirt alone won’t cut it, is the perforated or mesh show jacket. I have a navy Ariat one that I love, and I can get away with a very minimalist, sleeveless mesh show shirt with a stand up collar under it (mine is Kerrits, I think.) If I were in the market for a new show coat I would go with a light colored, perforated one.

I wear white breeches because they are cooler and I own them already.

I wish there were more aesthetically acceptable light colored helmet options that were a sensible price, but there were are.
