Best soap for those white leather gloves

Hello all! This is the first year that I’ve shown in white gloves instead of black and my my do they get dirty quick! What soap and/or methods of cleaning white gloves have you found most effective?

Thanks!

I buy synthetic, <$45 gloves and throw them in the wash with my other white show clothes. I’ll sometimes do a bit of Shout on the backs of the fingers, but any black on the palm won’t be seen when you are riding.

You can put gloves on and gently wash with pre softened Ivory, rinse and hang to dry.
rolling in a towel will squeeze out excess water. and if you can put them on while still damp to stretch out. I love the Neuman’s for that.

I don’t think you can get light colored leather truly clean. I would opt for synthetics.

I have a large collection of pretty colored leather gloves for fashion wear, driving the car, etc. Once they get grubby and stretched they never recover. They are much softer than riding gloves but are very lightly used in comparison, but still get grubby palms.

Neuman’s? Is this a soap or something else?

To be clear for everyone, I already have gloves, they are leather, and they are pretty gross looking and I need to clean them. Earlier this summer I used the Fiebling’s Saddle Soap and “washed my hands” while wearing them method, it worked ok, but the soap is yellowish and I found it hard to get out of certain parts of the gloves leaving a little more dingy appearance in those places. Has anyone tried the glycerin soaps? Or are these a no-go for this particular application?

I have the suede (synthetic suede?) type gloves and found out the hard way that putting them in the washer caused them to melt to pieces.

So now I soak them in warm water in the sink with some regular Tide laundry soap for 2-3 hours, put them on and “Wash my hands” then soak them some more. This gets them reasonably clean.

Could you try castile soap? This is the reason I buy synthetic show gloves…I think I have a pair of heritage and a pair of Roekels…oxy clean is a life saver, but even then, they’re never really fully white again. I also have a pair of really cheap white gloves for showing in the rain…so when they’re inevitably ruined they can just get tossed, or used as every day gloves until they die.

Neuman is a brand of gloves. Their primary market is football but they also make riding gloves. I love them.

I haven’t used this on white leather but I’ve used it on a variety of colors of tack spanning from light brown to my black dressage saddle and I’ve been quite pleased with it.

Thanks for the suggestions! I did order some leather CPR last week and will see how that does, I needed some basic leather soap anyway.

I just buy the $10 for 10 white wool roper gloves. Much easier than fighting to get white leather clean. They give good grip and you can bleach the crap out of them.
