Best soft dog crate?

We have two young Standard Poodles. When we visit relatives and friends, our hosts are gracious enough to allow us to bring our pets. We have this soft dog crate for our two year old poodle:

So far, we have been bringing the wire crate for our 11 month old rescue, but strapping a 42" crate to the roof is really not fun, and he is ready to have a fabric crate. We are happy with the one that we have, and I can get another, but I was wondering if any of you have recommendations for slightly sturdier models.

Also, we have a 42" crate for him at home. Do you get the same size for travel or size down?

Thanks!

Because we drive BC-TN 2x year, I’m a connoisseur of soft-sided crates. I have quite a collection.

There is no contest as to which one we like best: [URL=“http://www.dogkennelsolutions.com/store-products-9202-Soft-sided-Dog-Crate-tan-mini_1096440160.html”]http://www.dogkennelsolutions.com/store-products-9202-Soft-sided-Dog-Crate-tan-mini_1096440160.html

The crate collapses to pack flat, is very durable, good airflow, easy to clean.

Also, my dogs much prefer this one, if we give them a choice. I think they like being able to see out in all directions. My Havanese sleeps in hers every night.

Size depends on the dog’s preference. Some dogs like a snug fit, some like to move around.

I love our noz. To noz crates. Thy have lasted through shepherd and terv puppies. Are easy to set up and no pieces to lose! Lightfoot livery carries them and is great to work with. Most standard poodles can be comfortable with a twenty eight inch high thirty six long crate az long as they aren’t spending all of their time in it.

I second the noztonoz sof-crate. I have one and everything in the house tries to slip in for a nap. Cats and dogs. My German Shepherd comes and gets me to move the cats out when he is ready for bed. We have other crates set up in the house and this is the favorite. I take it down and travel with it fairly often and it has held up well. I use a 42" for him because he likes to stretch out. We travel with the same crate.

I have the Noz2Noz crate for my male Doberman Pinscher. It’s been great - easy to set up and transport. It is not a crate I feel comfortable leaving him in unsupervised. Yesterday I left him for a little while (the only time he’s ever been unsupervised in it) and he busted through the door and ate part of a pie  I was able to fix it but won’t make that mistake again. Keep in mind, though, Chase is a 9-month old, intact male working breed dog. So, not only is he incredibly strong, but he doesn’t have a whole lot of sense at this point in his life! He does not challenge it when I’m around since he knows that’s a no-no. With an older, less-goonish dog, I “might” leave the dog unsupervised.

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752023 I have this one for my corgi. She doesn’t get crated at home anymore so this one stays away and only goes when we travel now to places I know she can’t stay out if we leave. I really like it. It’s light and packs flat and pretty easy to set up and is sturdy when set up.

Thanks all. We needed to get the crate ASAP for a trip to my mom’s house, so we go the Noz to Noz at Petsmart. Thanks, it worked great!

Resurrecting this thread to see what is recommended for smaller soft crates for 16 pound Boston Terrier. Mostly for car rides and travel. We are looking for great ventilation and a screen portion on top too. Noz2noz are either too small or a bit big.

I was the OP, and I love the Noztonoz. I use a size smaller for my dogs when they travel, and they do just fine. I bet that you could go smaller than you think. I have two other types, and neither sets up as easy or lasts as well as the noz2noz.

IFG - THANK YOU! That is just the feedback I was looking for. I am thinking he will do fine in a ‘smaller’ size. He is dwarfed by the next size up. There is quite a difference. And Noztonoz keeps bubbling to the top of all the reviews for what is currently on the market.

Glad to help. You can get the NoxtoNoz cheaply off dog.com if you find a 20% off on line coupon.

Score! Big thumbs up for the Noz2Noz soft crate. It was incredibly easy to set up (no assembly required). I love the simple, sturdy and smart design. A little smelly from the plastic coating - but airing it out solved that quickly. Puppy likes it so much that he actually lounges in it. Especially since we got a nice Snoozer mat for it. Love that the Snoozer cover is washable, although reviews note it shrinks a bit with washing.

We got a soft crate for car rides mostly - and started training for short ones. We haven’t begun training to leave him in the soft crate. He is a bit young and exuberant for that yet. We still use the sturdy wire crate that he uses without issue.

Thanks IFG!

So glad you like it!
