Best teaching videos/subscriptions?

I have tried the equestrian master class subscription but felt like I was not seeing a lot of new content being uploaded. Felt like it was not worth the monthly payments when not a ton of content was being produced each month. But I love long educational videos such as those.
Haven’t tried it in a bit so willing to try again if things are different.

Any other recommendations?

What type of videos are you looking for? Rider based training? Horse based training? Riding or training theory? Videos of the person doing the Thing or videos explaining the Thing?

Not knowing any of the above, I would suggest Ride IQ and Warwick Schillers subscription. I like them both for very different things.

All of the above

I recommend a clip my horse subscription, it’s not just for watching livestreams…

Under the Academy tab, it has really good education videos. The clinic Henrik Von Eckermann does is fantastic. You’re watching him critique regular amateurs and he gives really simple understandable feedback. It was also helpful for me given I’ve bought a few amateur owned horses from Europe, many of them are crawling in the corners and gunning them at the jump. He also gets on a few and it’s really helpful watching how he addresses horses having a harder time.

They have videos on feeding and stomach problems, dressage videos on specific topics, gridwork, bitting, how to do things on the ground like pack hooves, take a temperature, how to walk a course with McLain, etc. I like that it’s less intensely produced than the Noelle Floyd videos and you can find a short topic that interests you and not set aside two hours for.

If you want to work on groundwork, I love the TRT Method. Not just bc he’s lighthearted and easy to understand, but he also has videos of people learning his method so you can kind of get a feel for the learning curve and maybe get a preview of what might be tricky as you’re learning.

I had no idea there was this tab available! I have had a subscription but had no clue it had vids like this. I just looked through them. Thank you! There’s tons

This clinic series, free on YouTube, is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Richard Spooner is one of the most positive, constructive and methodical clinicians I’ve ever seen … almost as good as our Hyde Moffatt here in Ontario. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

When I need a little inspiration, I pick a section and follow them through for a period of time: https://youtu.be/MyolsDmwnik?si=mejdQ-PtN1PU_Kdc

I don’t know what skill level you are but the YouTube channel HorseClass helped me a lot with my lesson horses and they have a lot of different subjects.

I can’t speak for all of their videos, but their content on helping your lesson horses become more responsive and forward really changed my life a lot.

It’s actually a cool story, there’s a woman at my barn who is disabled and she rides amazing! She had 3 kidney transplants, is mostly blind, and her feet don’t even reach the horses sides and she can move any “lazy” horse with her voice and firm but never aggressive use of a dressage whip. She’s a big inspiration to me and some of the horseclass videos helped me learn to teach other beginners to ride like her.

I LOVE RideIQ. I was very skeptical to start but have found it has really improved my riding. Even on a day I have minim time to ride (like today) I put on a 15-20 minute ride and get a lot accomplished. It’s been worth every penny.

I know this is HJ but Amelia Newcomb Dressage. She has a youtube account that has regular shortish format videos with tonnes of information that translates very well to HJ world - especially show jumping.

I rode in a clinic with her and she cross trains all her horses over small (2’6 and under) fences. Mostly in the form of cavaletti up to 2’3.

I tried a trial but was turned off it’s only audio? Unless I wasn’t using it right. Maybe I’ll have to give it another try. I like being able to see the rider and horse

Get ear buds and ride along. Think Peleton for horses. The rider position lessons are fabulous. Lauren Sprieser has one for one sided riders that’s also a great starter one

Oh interesting comparison! I’ll have to try it while riding one of these days. I’d love some equitation lessons, I think that would be great
