Best time of year to sell show clothes on EBay...is there one?

I have a bunch of things, (mostly show clothes) to sell on eBay (or similar) but I didn’t see a lot on eBay right now with bids. Is there a best time of year to sell? How about other horse equipment?

Is another site better for selling? I could try tacktrader.com I guess.

I’ve usually had the best luck price-wise selling at the beginning of the show season. As a buyer, I’ve gotten my best eBay bargains in the off-season.

Ebay was a waste of time when I was trying to sell two really nice snap collar RJ shirts I had bought in the wrong size. Sell on the Facebook Groups- English Tack Trader, Horses Sales and Horse Stuff, etc. Sold them that day and received payment on Paypal same day. You get wayyy more traffic.

As a general rule of sales, right before or right during a product’s useage is the best time to sell. Blankets in the fall/winter. Show stuff in the spring.

I’ve had two pairs of breeches for sale, one is a nearly new pair of TS and one is a brand new pair of Ariats. They aren’t over priced and I have yet to sell either and it’s been like a year! I had had 2 pairs of the Ariats and finally got one of those sold but no interest on the others. Even on the facebook tack groups there is no interest. Of course the Ariats actually fit like 3 inches bigger than they are marked so if someone doesn’t know (like I didn’t when I bought them) that they run so big I could be missing people that are looking at the tag size like I did instead of what size they will actually be. I have a brand new hunt coat that I need to list too because it’s too small. So we will see how that one goes! The trick is having time to wait as opposed to needing the money and trying to sell quick. I have the time to wait though at this point we are moving out of state early next year and the less stuff that we have to take with us the better! Inevitably they would end up selling in the middle of the move when they are packed somewhere in a box!

Thanks all. Yeah, I have time. I am selling these items and donating all the money to St. Jude charity for a fundraising event next September. I can wait.
