Best Trail Riding Business in Smoky Mountains (Cross posted to Off Course)

Hi all,
My husband and I are going to be spending a few days in Great Smoky Mountain National Park in late April as part of a road trip (Smokies, Nashville, Kentucky 3 day). We wanted to do a trail ride while visiting and I noticed there are multiple companies in the area. Does anyone have any advice on who we should go with?

For background, I’m a dressage rider who does some jumping on the side and grew up trail riding quite a bit. My husband has taken some lessons and is a competent walk-trot rider who has been on a handful of trails. We’d like to avoid something that will be a huge group of beginners plodding along and obviously want to support a business that takes great care of their horses.

Thanks in advance!

I have no idea but when I chose a place in the Black Hills, I just read all the reviews and made a decision based on that. It was a good choice.

Do a google search for Cades Cove horseback riding. Have a great ride!

Thanks everyone for the responses so far. I’ve already done a google search and read trip advisor reviews. I was hoping for some inside info if anyone is familiar with the area.

I agree to read the reviews, look closely at the websites, then go with your gut. Most folks carry their own horses into the Smokies or the Cumberland Plateau and are looking for the best places to camp — which is likely why response is low to your inquiry:)

i hooe ole you find a good stable and have a wonderful time!

The concession actually in Cades Cove had a pretty good reputation, last I heard. I know Horse Haven of TN let them adopt some horses, and that’s a pretty big deal. Have fun!
