Best Turnout Sheet / Light Blanket for Houdini TB

This is the first horse I’ve ever owned that had such a drive to be naked. Help!

Looking at the Wug blankets and the disc-front closure options because those look harder to shimmy out of.

Anyone have any luck finding the one blanket their horse CAN’T wiggle out of?

If they don’t want to wear it, don’t put it on them. All of them can be escaped if the horse wants to get out of it.

Big Ds are best but not a great fit for a TB. The leg straps on these blankets are much more stable as they thread through the blanket before attaching to the hook. If you criss cross them in between the legs, they are almost impossible to get off. A closed front helps. Make sure that the blanket fits properly at the shoulders and doesn’t sag in the front. The front blanket closure should sit right at the brisket. You will know it doesn’t fit right at the shoulder if you grasp the banket at the wither and pull up. If there’s slack, or the front of the blanket isn’t sitting at the brisket, it’s too big in the shoulder. A blanket that is too big or too loose in the shoulder or front is a blanket escapee’s dream. Raising a lot of young horses in a previous life has taught me a lot about how to keep blankets on Houdinis. Be thankful he doesn’t chew on the blanket to get if off. That’s another whole bucket of worms.
