Do you have a great way to hang pitchforks, brooms, etc. on the wall? I usually end up using nails, but I’d like to hear other methods…
I got a few of these which are screwed to the walls
this specifically is a “Rubbermaid Multi-Purpose Hook” which can be ordered through any of the normal channels as single or in two piece packs
Concur with Clanter. That style of hook works great for (non-basket) forks and brooms. They will hold one basket fork though, so not useless, you just can’t put a bunch of them on one hook like you can with regular forks and brooms. Some have little ridges to make a ‘home’ for each tool and they are available longer and shorter depending on your needs.
I use one similar to this, mounted on the aisle-side wall of my tackroom:
Mine is plastic, and larger, but the same idea.
I’ve been really happy with these and they have a bit of grippiness to them which is pretty handy. They are covered in rubber and stand out maybe 3 inches from the wall and turn up at the end which helps hold the object when you place it.
Better view here:
I use these too. Happy with them and I like how they turn up at the ends.
I got some old rake heads and put them on the walls
Depends upon types of tools. I use both the gridwall system and 2 inch wide metal pegboard strips. If you use pegboard secure the hangers with clips of the hanger will fall out when you are removing some tools. And magnetic attachments on the pegboard strips are great for pliers and screwdrivers.
Sweet. Now that’s taking it to the next level. Is that brand of the magnetic holder Torin? Nice DH gift ideas.
I also have a few other ideas that are fun and useful. Find some antique hooks and this horse tail one was a gift and I can’t find them anywhere online. Etsy is a good place to look for more decorative fun ideas.
I’m just going to hire LCDR to organize my tools.
We retired to a barn for 18 months before I had to put my 28 y,o. gelding down. The BO built the facilty and spent quite a bit of time looking at barns before she got started. There was one spoton the property where the indoor arena could be located. She had two 10-stalls side-by side attached to the arena with access turnout,. The other side had access to the manure pile and washrack, plus a driveway from the parking lot. She was as close to the perfect BO as you will ever encounter. I don’t have photos but there were some nice little features that made a big difference.
The best was the alcove in each aisleway. It was about 18-24" deep. Looking at it from the front it was probably about 12 feet wide with a concrete floor a couple of inches above aisleway floor. On the right end there were shelves 18" wide. Here in Maine you can leave a brush bag out and it doesn’t disappear. I also had fly spray and other supplies. There was an ample heated tack room for trunks, tack, etc . A shelf ran across the top for storage. At the left hand end there was a frostfee hydrant with hook for hanging water buckets. There was plenty of room for a manure tub. Hooks for tools including pitchforks, shovels, brooms, etc ran across the back. There was an outlet and hanger for an electric blower (built pre-cordless days) on the side of the shelf unit. The heated grain room was between the two alcoves, accessible form both sides. It had a lot of storage at one end for tools, etc. for barn staff. A counter had large drawers below and cabinets above. The two sides had a wide aisle between the grain and tack rooms. Baled hay for feed up was on one wall, and the other had hooks for an extra blanket for each horse.
It was great. Everything you needed to take care of your horse within a few feet. Everything barn staff needed to take care of the barn. The horses really loved it. There was a window in each stall grill so they could stick their heads out into the aiseway. They kept an eye on activity, particulary meal service, which was much too slow.

I got some guitar hangers for free from someone - those work great for one or two tools in my shed
Otherwise I like the little yoke ones that are super cheap at the hardware store. Screw in in a jiffy, can move them easily if needed.
Agree that @LCDR can just come on over and organize my stuff.
I love it and at the same time it gives me anxiety. . I think that’s way I have a rolling tool chest.
But agree with Clanter for pitch forks and all that.
