Best Website to find a Hunt Horse

Looking for a first flight/staff horse but unfamiliar with the big foxhunter websites/web circles. Any suggestions?

Norm Fine has a new website that looks like it is worth checking out. foxhuntinglife.com
I saw a super horse on there in a display ad. It was trained by one of the best in the Blue Ridge

Foxhunter sources

We have several classifieds in our e-newsletter and online at ecovertside.net.
Thanks,
Emily

I just saw some advertised on Virginia Equestrian in the classified section.

The horses are listed by skill set, great site with good folks associated with it.

Foxhunters on Line

Try posting what you are looking for on FOL. There’s usually several people with horses available priced less than what you’ll find advertised on the big sites. You can tell them just what your are looking for and what geographic area you are in.

Dont know where you’re located, but Susan usually has very nice horses.

Virginia Field Hunters

I bought my mare Phoebe from the Merle-Smiths at www.virginiafieldhunters.com, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. I got her as a green five year old, and she’s been very dependable for six hunting seasons now, out with hounds well over 200 times.

We always have several made hunt horses for sale.

There’s a very nice, unraced tb for sale in New Jersey. I don’t know the woman who owns him now, but I do know the woman who bred him and she breeds for mind and jumping ability. All of her horses I’ve met are unflappable and athletic.

Apparently this horse is a cross country machine and loves hunting. The woman who owns him now started him as an event horse but hunting has turned out to be his game. She’s in NJ and has been hunting him there. IMO, eventing is great for fine tuning foxhunters. Here’s a link to her site.
