Best winter barn boots

I am sure this topic has come up before but I would love some current input as new models of boots and new technology keep coming out. I am looking for winter barn boots that will a) keep my feet warm and b) hold up. They should have a waterproof foot to make it through rain and snow and come above my ankle or mid-calf. I am open to taller boots, but usually those are rubber and that makes my feet freeze.

I am currently wearing these: https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/35474?page=women-s-l-l-bean-boots-8-gore-tex-thinsulate&bc=474-630&feat=630-GN1&csp=f&attrValue_0=Tan/Brown
They are great when it is 45 degrees and above, but lower than that and my feet freeze instantly. It’s like my feet sweat when they are cold and then get colder.

I have these for big snows: https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/91145?page=women-s-l-l-bean-snow-boots-with-tumbled-leather&bc=474-630&feat=630-GN1&csp=f&attrValue_0=Maple
They are wonderful and warm but also enormous and a bit heavy, too much for me on a normal cold-but-clear-ground day unless it’s 0.

So what are you people wearing that keeps you warm? And FWIW, I have tried all kinds of sock combinations. I have silk and wool sock liners. I have wool blend hiking socks in varying weights. I wear leggings under my jeans. It doesn’t really matter. Unless I’m actively running across the field, my feet are frozen from November to April. There has to be a better way?? I am in the Mid-Atlantic so not tons of snow but enough, and it certainly gets cold and raw. Not uncommon to have cold spells hover around 0 and it always feels colder because of the humidity.

Mountain Horse. I have a pair of winter paddock boots that are 10-15 years old, and they’re only just now starting to fail (some cracking along the sole/foot part.)

They’re waterproof, SUPER insulated, and have good traction. They’re awful to ride in, 0/10 would not recommend as a riding boot, but if you want something warm, safe, and durable to wear around the barn, they are A+. I will be getting another pair once mine aren’t usable anymore.

Look at these:

You can send them back if you don’t like them.
Super warm, very good foot support for long hours and surprisingly light.
Those that go snowmobiling and cross country snowshoe trekking love them.

Wow these look perfect!! Too bad they don’t have my size on that site. I will check REI and a couple other places. I have always thought the Vasque boots look really nice but am not at all familiar with the brand. One winter I got a pair of Sorels from REI for barn boots and they busted open where the toe creases on both boots. Started as small cracks one day and the next I was looking at my socks. REI said they would take them back but literally had no boots to replace them with and we were in the middle of snowmageddon. I was afraid the Vasque boots would go the same way but I will look into them more seriously!

@skipollo I totally forgot about Mountain Horse! Yes they are a great brand, I will see what they have!

Different colors have different sizes available.

I have used Vasque hiking boots as regular shoes forever, since I broke my foot and the Dr put me in those, as they seem to have excellent foot support.
Mine have lasted forever as barn boots, but they were not that model, were a regular hiking boot.

Way long ago, some of the first Mountain Horse boots they had, I bought a pair and they fell apart in a couple months, literally broke at the seams.
I didn’t follow thru with them, they may have replaced them.
Those they sell today look much better made and look very comfortable.

I just got a replacement pair of Mudruckers. I love them and they keep my feet warm and dry. Even with our -40F wind-chill and tons of snow, my feet are warm and dry and I only wear regular socks with them.
