Beval Natural

Question…is there a market for used Beval Natural saddle these days? More specifically…trying to see if I should keep mine or get rid of it…

It might be worth contacting Beval to see if they would consign it for you (and how much they would ask). Even if you don’t want to sell it through them, it could be a good way to gauge the value.

Good idea, but shipping to and from VA would probably not be worth it. They also take 30%, which is a lot!!!

What are your reasons for getting rid of it? I have regretted almost every saddle I’ve sold (quite a few) for one reason or another. If you don’t need the money and think you’ll use it again, keep it!

What about trying to sell it yourself? Via ebay, word of mouth etc. If you don’t need to sell it, you could try to casually sell it and see what happens. That way if it does go, great. If not, you have a saddle down the road to use should you ever need it.

It does not fit my current horse and I have the CWD Rep coming tomorrow to demo some. It’s in excellent and I mean excellent condition. I’m not sure about keeping it or not. My husband says to keep for down the road if I get another horse. I absolutely love it and can’t imagine riding in anything else, but it’s not doing my guy any favors at the moment. I was hoping to sell it to help cover the costs of a new one, but I’d never be able to replace it because I literally paid 1100 for it new via the employee purchase program. I guess I’m just torn now on what to do…

Sent you PM

I’m currently trying to sell one now (a BZ Natural), great shape- and it’s tough. You will most likely have to list it for far below what you think it’s worth.

I’d keep it if I were you.

So I think if even your husband says keep it, you should definitely keep it

I just bought and sold one in a 17 Wide; it didn’t fit the horse but my daughter LOVED it so much I was tempted to keep it. It was an older one but had been very well cared for. I bought and sold for around $825 including shipping.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like I should hang onto it! I guess the husband is right!!! Haha!!! I agree, it will probably hard to get decent money out of it and I would have to take a hit on it just to move it. Guess I need another horse…

There you go, get another horse to fit that nice saddle. It’s hard to sell anything that’s not a Butet on the open market unless your buyer and/or their trainer is somebody you already know.

I recently took one on trial from The Tack Exchange in Middleburg, but it didn’t fit either of my horses. I liked the feel of it very much, but I’m sort of an “old school” sort and still miss my Hermes Steinkraus pancake! The one I tried was listed at $1199 (if it had worked, I probably would have offered $1000 max based on others for sale and the condition) and had some wear on the seat but was in otherwise good condition.

I think if you can’t get the $ you want out of it and you love it, you should keep it. There’s not a huge market for these flatter type saddles right now so you will likely not be happy with price it will fetch, If you can afford a new saddle and keep that one, that’s what I would do.

I’ve been trying to sell one for several years. Almost new. Common size. No takers.

 I like your logic, and I regret a couple of my past saddle sales. If I followed it I would have at least 4 additional saddles.

I just sold 2 used Natural’s at my tack shop. (And we only take 15% of the price!)
