Has anyone ever used a girth with 1 1/2 inch buckles for a saddle with 1 inch billets? Is there any reason that it would be a problem? I got a wonderful new custom mohair endurance girth the other day and when I ordered it, I didn’t notice that it came with 1 1/2 inch buckles until I pulled it out of the package and got ready to ride. It seemed to work just fine and I love the girth, but I just am wondering if there is any reason that I shouldn’t use it that way.
Yes. Same thing - I bought a mohair girth and didn’t pay attention to the buckle size. It worked fine on regular 1" billets.
I’ve used girths with 1.25" buckles on 1" billets without any problem.
