"Bionic" riding gloves

I have found riding gloves that I enjoy using. I’ve tried several different brands in the past - they didn’t fit, or didn’t give me the feel I wanted. So I usually ride bare-handed. Last winter I rode in nitrile gardening gloves.

Last month I saw some goatskin leather ones that fit nicely. I’ve ridden in them and must say they offer good feel and flexibility. I can buckle the throatlatch without any problem, for example. Stress points - over the knuckles, between the fingers - are not leather - they’re knit. They’re machine washable.

They’re made by the Louisville Slugger Co. Listed at $50, which is more than I paid at the feed store. They come in black, brown and white. www.bionicglove.com. Look for “equestrian” under the pull-down menu. Very comfortable and appear to be well-made. They also have equestrian show gloves.

Just wanted to pass this along in case someone is looking for comfortable gloves.

Oh! I have these. Now, I’m a big glove fan, so I love most gloves. These are my favorites though! They’re so comfy. The leather is softer than my deerskins, and it really molds to the shape of your hands.

Putting them on is like putting on your favorite comfy shoes. My hands just love them!

I always try on gloves when I see them, and I have several. But these are the first ones (except for the nitrile ones) that I’ve actually ridden in. The feel was so good.

Have you washed them? Mine are still fairly new, but I can see the day when they’ll need to be washed.

I am shopping for new gloves, but am totally balking at paying $50!

Totally worth it!

Ambrey, they are worth every penny – don’t balk!

I have a bit of arthritis in my right thumb and index finger, and the gloves really help.

Oh, because I am having a lot of problems with my arthritic ring and pinky fingers. My slightly too tight, a bit stiff Ariat gloves weren’t helpful.

Dang. How to explain the cost… LOL!

try them on. I’m experiencing arthritic changes in my hands, too, and I was very pleased to slip these on and find them supportive without being tight. Think batting gloves for riding. They are very well made and I expect to get good wear from them. It will be another example of “quality doesn’t cost, it pays!”

(And I think I paid about $42 for mine)

Maybe it isn’t so much when you fork out the fifty bucks…but the nausea that overcomes you when you realize you lost one…

BTDT, got the t shirt!!

Yeah, um, that’s what happened to my Ariats

They are great gloves!

I have some too and loff them!

Hubby got 'em as a gift for me and I’ve used them about a year and they’re still going strong. So, that would justify the price!

They’re super comfy. I had never heard of them before and wondered what kind of off brand gloves he bought me … but they’re awesome.

I absolutely adore my Bionic gloves. They were bought as driving gloves but I ride with them also. So comfy!!! Hubby bought them as a surprise for me at the National Drive after hearing everyone recommending them. They are awesome!

Netfilly. $45, shipping free.

I got a pair of these for my birthday. I know sis did not pay $50, more like $35. Check the golf equipment websites, I know that bionic makes golf gear too, and when something says ‘equestrian’ on it, it gets marked up to the skies…

I save them for showing in, and they are very spiffy. http://www.bionicglove.com/shop/?id=44&cat=31
