Bird stuck in garage

An immature cardinal flew in the garage and cannot find his way out. I have the big garage door open, and the small back door open. He perches on top of the garage door and flies back and forth by the ceiling. He flies above the door and above the back door up against the concrete wall. He’s been stuck since lunch time. I tried catching him with a box or herding him out but he is too fast and that just upsets him more. I tried closing the big door and turning off the lights, hoping he would go out the little door but that didn’t work either.

Nevermind, it finally escaped. It only took 7 hours.

I had this problem with a hummingbird. To get the bird out, I hung a feeder on the lip of the garage door. Bird found the feeder, then flew on out. If you do this, be sure to hang the feeder so that the bird can easily see it. Hope you can get the little guy out!

I get birds in the garage all the time. Usually hummingbirds. It’s probably pretty comical looking watching me try to get one to land on my broom and “carrying” it out. Usually they are tired enough to land on the bristle side of the broom and I can walk out with it. But the fresh ones, they are touch. I like the feeder idea. I will keep that in my bag of tricks!

this scenario is played out here all the time

I worry

I try to help
