If you’re still shopping around for options, I recently had my OTTB going in a noseband-less bridle using a Neue Schule turtle top tactio lozenge baucher. He has a massively fat tongue and just didn’t seem to love the NS, even though it was highly preferable to the other bits we had tried. I ended up ordering this Low Port sweet iron baucher from Cavalon and it was an amazing purchase. My guy has been so relaxed working into the contact since switching to it, that we were able to move back to his Collegiate ComfiTech bridle while using it too. I would definitely recommend checking them out https://cavalonbits.com/collections/baucher-bits/products/baucher-low-port-capsule-sweet-iron-snaffle
Consider the Acavallo Jupe bit. It molds to their mouth to an extent, so gives whatever tongue relief they need. For the low palate, it will flatten in the middle. I have also found that because it is a bit bendy, but holds the bend better than a plastic/rubber bit which tries to return to its original shape. It also seems less offensive to them if they do get their tongue over it so they don’t get that same tight jaw tension.
