Black Diamond Design Bridles - Wide Noseband on petite head?

Hi! I know that these bridles have been talked about a lot on here and the quality seems absolutely lovely! Does anyone have photos of the Show Hunter bridle with the wide noseband they can share? My horse has a petite head and I’m curious to see what it looks like on some horses. I want to bite the bullet but think it may be overwhelming on a smaller head? Thanks!

I can get you a better picture this afternoon (sans halter) of it on my yearling filly. I initially bought it for a 17hh+ gelding and I agree with you; I think it’s too much on her, and will be looking for something smaller for her to show in. Too bad as it is really pretty!

My daughter’s horse has a very refined and petite head and Amy has worked with us to find the perfect fit!

My TB has a very dainty/ petite face (solidly cob size, can even wear some pony things). I think it looks good on her (my favorite bridle purely for aesthetics on her is a figure 8 though). Not the best pics, she wanted to practice her smiles. The throatlatch is wonkily fitted please ignore  ETA ours is not at all broken in. It’s had I think a total of 3 rides, 2 of which were tack walks. The leather is great but the noseband hasn’t “let down” / formed to her face the way a really broken in bridle does just yet so we have little gaps.

Which noseband is this?

I like this! Is this the show hunter bridle with the padded noseband?

I actually quite like this on her!

My WB has a petite head. He ended up with a cob noseband in the wide show hunter, and I custom added a flash.

Oh wow, that looks gorgeous on him!

Thank you! And thanks most of all to Amy!

I am very pleased with the Sedgwick leather in the chestnut color. I oiled it in Hydrophane and it matches my Tad Coffin perfectly.

Next time I want HJ strap goods I will order from her again!

Okay, this was my first time seeing it on her without a halter and with reins, and I actually think I agree with you @TatteredDaydreamer - it does look quite nice on her!
(The rubber lined reins are awesome btw, I definitely recommend.)

I’m glad you made this post! I’ve been dragging my feet on getting her a new one since I like the quality of this one, but it felt like a lot of leather to me when seeing it on with the halter (I guess because it was a lot of leather)! Thanks for giving me a reason to skip the halter, and enjoy your new bridle!

For me it’s too many buckles on the right side, plus the comfort crown, but I am very traditional. Seems like a standard wide noseband is hard to come by these days!

You can get it with the throatlatch that just attaches on the one side like a traditional bridle. The comfort crown looks lovely!

I think you can order one with a regular sized nose band - Amy is great and will give you all the options! She also has lots of pictures - if you reach out and ask for how the bridle looks on small heads, I’m sure she’ll send you some photos.

I love mine! It’s a lovely show bridle, and I might buy another with a more traditional throat latch and regular sized nose band.

Pardon the big ears, but here’s the wide unpadded noseband with traditional crown/throat latch. Love Black Diamond!!!
