My pony wears a Rambo stable sheet at night with a nylon lining, which keeps his coat lovely and shiny, but the trim/top seam is rubbing out his mane above his withers. I don’t want to add something like a Sleazy or shoulder guard - blanketing isn’t included in board so I pay our stall cleaner extra per month per piece of wardrobe to put on at night and take off in the AM, so adding a neck cover would double my blanketing costs and he’s already super overloaded.
Something like the Equifit Withershield might be perfect if it could be attached securely to the blanket… but the little Equifit bit is more expensive than my actual sheet was and again, don’t want the barn guys spending extra time fussing with my stuff.
I’m going to take the sheet to our local horsey dry cleaner/tailor to see if they can add fleece at the withers for padding and maybe cover that with a nice slippery nylon, but I was curious if anyone had done something similar, or if there’s a product out there I don’t know about that would solve my problem!
