Does anyone know how long shipping takes (to Wellington) from either of these vendors? Having a wonter wher NOTHING is working!!!
How should one evaluate sizing for the Bossy Bibs? I have a 16.0hh Hungarian mare. She is rather upright in the neck and is fairly broad in the chest and deep in the girth. Based on height, I would choose the Medium Full, but I am wondering if I would be better to choose the Large Full size?

Well - if I shipped tomorrow you should see it by early/mid next week …

The betwixt and between ones can always be a bit more challenging … … what size blanket is she in? Are her withers normal or tall? Being too large is equally as bad as being too small. If you go up a size and you dont need to and the Bossys Bib falls behind the withers and down past the point of the shoulders, you will leave 2 areas exposed that tend to rub the most. Her blanket size should tell us a lot to determine the correct sizing

For what it is worth, the one I ordered was too big and I found it very easy to take apart the front seam, cut off a few inches and sew it back up.

She is pretty short-coupled so she wears a 76 blanket (sometimes a 74 might even fit). Her withers are normal but her neck is rather upright out of her withers.
Here is a not great photo - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154370716463613&l=bf56c05e7e
I bought a satin shoulder guard off of Ebay for less than $20 shipped and it is on its second season. My mare will rub instantly in well fitting blankets without it. It’s such an easy and cheap solution I’ve been very pleased.

I’ve heard good things about the Bossys Bibs, but “traps air”? That’s not why they work.
Just like Lycra shoulder guards, nylon lined blankets, and BB knock offs they provide a slick surface that moves with the horse, allowing the horse’s shoulder to glide under the blanket rather than fight the friction. The reason BBs are so good is that their material is more durable than any other and stays slick longer. The Lycra guards work, until the fibres wear under the blanket friction and it loses the glide action. A blanket might be fine for the first while, then start to rub as dirt builds up on the lining and creates a high friction area, or the fibres wear. It’s got nothing to do with a " layer of air".

She is absolutely a Medium Full then -no question at all …

Great, thanks! Order placed!
My horse is big shouldered too, and I used the typical lycra shoulder guards for years, but they never worked very well, and he’d get rubs eventually even with using these things. I learned about Bossy Bibs here on this forum - bought one - and that thing is a miracle. I don’t know about the “layer of air” theory but I agree with the “free floating” theory - this is what seems to be the case from my observations. Anyway- it was worth every penny, the gal from True Colours was wonderful during the purchase. I bought three years ago in the middle of winter; my horse already had some rubs - and within a month of using it, the hair was growing back and by spring you could barely notice he had any rubs.
And he hasn’t had any since. Greatest thing since sliced bread and fleece underwear

I ordered a Bossy Bib from True Colours on Mon Jan 30 and it arrived over the weekend I believe. The shipping process was a bit confusing because I got a “your shipment is on the way” email right after placing the order, then an order confirmation email saying the order was being prepared and I’d be notified when it was shipped. The shipping email said that I could track my shipment, but tracking information never appeared. Clicking on the link in either email still links to a page saying my order is being prepared. So, not the most streamlined of ordering processes, but the product arrived in decent time anyway.
It seems well made! I’ve only used it once so far since it’s been crazy warm, so I can’t really review it yet.
Just wanted to say I got mine very quickly and it has worked miraculously well. Significant shoulder rubs (close to becoming raw) on both shoulders disappeared in 7-10 days, never to reappear. Next year I’ll buy another so I have two to rotate when washing them.
Just wanted to add that your horses are moving around which is good. Since my horse went to boarding stable in the snow and ice, she did not move around and does not have the rubs…too much standing around and possibility of stocking up except she’s worked regularly.
I’m surprised that only 1 person mentioned a HUGs sheet/blanket. I bought one and it worked very well. It wraps left to right and right to left, so there is not center buckle and no pressure on the front of the horse.
