Bliss Mf

Anyone have anY offspring from this guy?

He moves so lovely! And that jump wow.

Anyone seen him in person?

Me, yes he does, and yes I have…

I know Bliss well, my mare had a filly by him in 2010 that is LOVELY. I’ve spent time around him and know his owner. He is a lovely mover, fantastic jumper, and has quite the personality.

Any specific questions?

Do we know if he throws height? More bone? Less bone?

Mostly hunter movement ? Or jumper/dressage?

He is exceptional

Well, my filly out of a big framed Corlando mare is HUGE. Like, going to be 17.2 or better huge. With appropriately sized big bones (and ears LOL!). However, he did shorten the back on the filly. And she is an improvement on her mother in movement. (and she did jump out of the paddock as a yearling - without touching a rail, but then so did her 1/2 sister by another stallion, so can’t say the mare doesn’t throw jump too) Another foal of his out of a big framed Cheenook mare is refined and elegant and will probably make 16.1. That filly is one of the best movers I have ever seen, and very, very pretty to look at.

Both fillies are friendly and outgoing.

WOW!

MAN! I am at a loss for words (other than WOW!)

Takes one’s breath away…

Glad to hear good things about his offspring! I’ve been torn between Bliss MF and Banderas for possible boyfriends for my mare.

I really like Bliss MF as well! Gorgeous movement and nice jump. I wish there was some more recent video of him. He is so green in the under saddle jumping video and I wish I knew what he went like with a few more miles under his belt.

I’m a fan of Bliss, Banderas and Amazing. All a little different, but very nice stallions!

Feel his free to PM me. I have several photos of him from the YHS finals in Wellington that I would be happy to share with you. He was stable mates with my horses at my trainer’s farm for a few months.

Me too  I am very excited about our Amazing foal that is due in a few months.

I would recommend that you contact his owner. She is a real horsewoman, knows what he is and what he has produced and is quite forth coming.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bliss! So much so that I bred my homebred TB mare - Nightlight - to him for a May 2012 baby and I also convinced a client to breed her TB cross Zone Champion jumper mare to him in 2012

Maggie - his owner - is fabulous - couldnt ask for a nicer or better stallion owner to deal with and she jumped through hoops at the 11th hour to get semen to us on time. Can say enough great things about her

My mare is very much a hunter type mare and I am hoping for a hunter moving, hunter type baby from this cross and then my client’s mare is pure jumper and she is hoping for a really scopey jumper baby

I loved the movement on him and his jump is jaw dropping, and I love how he is put together and the bloodlines on him through both sire and dam line

I also really like and appreciate how he is being developed and campaigned. He did well in his approvals, he did some classes over fences, but the decision was made to back off a bit, let him grow and mature some more, so his owner switched gears and got a dressage trainer and rider in for him and last year he solidified his flat work. 2012 will see him back in the jumper ring probably and maybe the hunter ring???

He will be a fun one to watch for sure and I am really looking forward to my Bliss baby in a few months time!

I would love to see how he goes as a hunter!

Thanks

We are also looking at Amazing

I am going to start a thread soon as well.

This would be more for a hunter baby… But I think we need a bit more bone and the babies Amazing has on the ground seem to look pretty thick

Bliss, Banderas and Amazing are all great guys! Thoughts on what types of mare would best cross with each of these boys?

My Boy!

Thanks for all the nice things you all said about my stallion Bliss MF. One of you was asking for more recent videos. Here’s a link to a video I made just so our trainer/rider Jessica could see how he looked. It’s just trotting but you can get an idea of how quiet he is. BTY, there are mares in the pastures on either side of him!

I really don’t believe in pushing young horses, especially my stallions, so I don’t have to many show videos as of yet. Bliss MF did the jumpers at WEF last year (Jan - April) with John Brown (and won lots of ribbons) and then spent the rest of this year doing dressage with Jessica Miller. This season he will go back to the jumper ring and perhaps do a bit of the hunters. We’ll see.
His two daughters on the ground here are really nice. Out of two mares who couldn’t be more different! He does consistantly through his chrome but one of them is the best “young” mover on the farm and the other keeps jumping into the neighboring pastures to visit!!! 4.5 foot fences. One is huge and one is smaller and dainty! But they both love to jump and do it well, both are very sweet, all are bay (3 total), all have beautiful heads with big eyes, long necks and beautiful toplines. The one in VA has three high whites and a blaze and also jumps anything in her way. The owner is over the moon with her!!!
Bliss MF bred a lot of mares for 2012 foals so we will be able to tell more about what he is producing in a few months. Wide range of mares so it should be very interesting!
I know it is hard to take a leap of faith and breed to any stallion who doesn’t have much on the ground yet, so I really thank all who did!
As for personality, Bliss MF has become such a nice guy! At the YHS he hadn’t been ridden in three weeks (for a bunch of reasons) so I was just going to scratch him from the two under saddle classes. I ran into a friend of mine, Michaell Hockstetler, and told him this and he said, no way, I’ll ride him. I figured, why not. Micheal got on him the day before the show and instead of waiting for me (I kind of like to walk next to the young stallions) he just took off walking down to the ring. When he got there he hacked him around then we set up two schooling jumps. No problem with anything, even though Bliss MF hadn’t jumped or been to a horse show in 8 months. The day of the show I had 8 horses to braid and get ready so I was kind of stressing. At a show, with all the new mares around, stallions can get a little full of themselves. When I went into his stall to braid him I was having visions of what might happen if someone by with a mare, me on a stepstool, all by myself. So I told him he had to be the best boy ever. Like he was going to listen! Ha Ha!!! But you know what…he did!!! Twice people walked by with mares and he just stood there. Sometimes they just get it. Stallions are so sensitive to the way we are feeling. At least mine are!!! The next day Michael rode him in both classes. Michael was so thrilled with him. I was so proud of him. Well behaved, jumped all the jumps, and took it all in stride. I was a mess…he was fine.
Not only is Bliss MF multi-talented, he is just a good guy. That Argentinus brain!!! I just love it!!!
Maggie

Wow Maggie! I LOVE that new video of him! He looks so soft and relaxed and so much fun to ride!

For me - and my purposes with my mare - I love the long and low footage where he is moving forward more. He looks like he is dancing and I can clearly see how he can do well and produce well for the hunter ring  and then with more collection, how the dressage and jumper breeders would appreciate him

Lovely footage - what a nice stallion!

(off to count how many more sleeps to my Bliss baby … )

Here are some pictures of my TB mare that I have bred to Bliss:

I think the cross with him will be simply amazing!

One more Pneumabort shot to go and then the serious countdown begins to when she foals …

Truecolours - neat markings on your mare, very pretty!

Thanks! There were 7 full siblings and all had the identical markings and “look” to them. It was uncanny - it was like the Genetic Gods indelibly stamped all the siblings with the exact same genetic coding!
