Bliss saddles. Anyone have (or tried) one?

Well poo. Sorry to hear the tales of woe  it’s quite a young company (over here)… and like any company that starts as a one man band and then goes through periods of exponential growth, I’m sure there’s been times when they’ve dropped the ball, and probably fitters taken on who never should have been.

Let me know how I can put it right. Pm me, or add to the thread - I’m sure Amanda. (Indy Equestrian) will help too.

There are areas of the country where we just don’t have fitters. I’m sorry about that - I think it’s one if the major stumbling blocks to growth in this country. Those sparsely populated mid West/west states are very difficult to get coverage for. I’ve worked with a client in Washington who found her fitter couldn’t, or wouldn’t get to her to make it right - I built her a second saddle, but still, I couldn’t get there to fit it for her, so we bought it right back and sent her to Albion! Sad, but true - she could tell who the motivated fitter was who had her area covered, and unfortunately, often a difficult area can only support one professional saddle-fitter. Go with that brand. Having access to a fitter who is loving it and is at the top of their game is everything.

Anyway, let me know what I can do to fix it for you

Pacific_jumper, can you contact me so we can put this right?

withoutaparachute - please let me know what I can do to fix this.

Just watched this a few days ago for more information… Maybe I’m gullible but she sold me. Seems like they’ve got a lot of semi-custom options for a very affordable price. I probably sound crazy saying $3k+ is affordable, but the other big name saddles are $6k and $7k.

So, still no response on this. I’ve had one person contact me by PM, but I have no record of her previous PM, and she’s gone quiet on me  I can’t fix it, if you don’t tell me, guys!!

I’ve looked for years for Jump saddles that really work, and Bliss are nailing it. Full custom, tree made to my specifications, deep wool panel if I choose, any depth of seat, any flap, any colours - and the base model is $2315

Can’t be beaten! (And of course, if you have $4650… There’s the all bells and whistles Paramour Monoflap :D)

As a saddle buyer, my only problem with this business model is that it makes the saddles basically inaccessible to people who don’t have a local fitter familiar with the line - which is the vast majority of people.

I know you have I have corresponded about this, but without even access to a demo saddle, it’s just impossible for people to have success with the brand. It’s why I have gone back to standard for saddles where it either fits or it doesn’t.

There’s just too few competent saddle fitters out there.

The Indiana Bliss dealer offered to bring several saddles out to our barn and leave them over a long weekend before we ordered one. She even fit one of our horses into a cheaper model because she said it fit better than the more expensive one.

I had the same experience with her. My only complaint is the wait time has been longer than originally promised, but it’s still at half what County was telling me. And waaaaay less than CWD said they could do without the worry of foam.

My experience was that it is important to work with a good fitter with these saddles (probably true with many brands). I didn’t have that luxury, but I would recommend working with Kate Wooten if you have the opportunity. I can’t speak to the other fitters, because I live in one of the donut holes.
