Honestly just sad.
Millions of cattle are no problem, though. Ugh.

That was a very biased article. I’m not sure there is much substance there. A lot of emotion, though.

Sure it was biased. Ranchers have a lot of clout and a lot of money…they have lawmakers in their pocket. This wasn’t as much of an article as it was a plea.

Look, the real damage is being done by the mining and oil leases. The ranchers have restrictions on their stocking numbers, which take wildlife into account, including Mustangs. The worsening drought situation and poisoned water from the mining and oil leases are what’s bringing everything to a crisis. Western rangeland can only support so many animals. With everyone wanting their McMansions in the desert and all the issues with water, the wildlife is getting squeezed into smaller and smaller tracts of land. Limiting development and stopping all the sweet political deals and leases to big oil and big mining will do much more to save the wildlife. The former president was a boon for those guys. He spent a lot of time giving away public land to rich friends and removing animals from the ESA so his idiot son could shoot them. We need an environmentalist in charge of public lands. Thank goodness we have one now.
