So you guys are trendy now. This article also has a link to another brand which you might find interesting
Bought my husband a pair of Blundstones for Christmas last year. He loves them. Also, spell check seems to have messed up the title of this thread.
Love my blundstones! Is it still fashionable if they have a little mud and manure on them sometimes?
. Thanks for letting me know
For anyone wondering. Original title ‘blind stone’ maybe I should have left it that way
“They used to be the best shoes I had for working,” he said. “But now that everyone has them, I’ve noticed they’re not made as well anymore. I’ve switched to Redbacks, which are also Australian, but they’re uglier but hold up better in the field and aren’t as popular yet.”
I also moved on to Redbacks. I had some Blundstones for several years and when they fell apart, I tried out the Redbacks. So far so good!
I had Blundstones as paddock boots but there wasn’t enough foot support and I was having foot pain in the mornings. Also I killed them in about a year. I switched to Ariat Twin Gore. I got a pair for my sister for Christmas a year ago as she was starting to ride a bit agsin. She has been wearing them to work and out and about and says they are the best boots ever. I think they will last a long time as she isn’t mucking stalls!
I feel like they’ve been popular for a while now. I have a pair of Rossi boots (similar brand). I don’t much like riding in them but love that I can wear them to the office, a construction site, dog walking, or the barn. And they work with my wide feet once I figured out the sizing conversion.
I quit buying them when the quality went down, I want to say some 15 or so years ago. It coincides with me seeing people wearing them around my (then) office and I think it was related. They became more “fashion” and less “work.”
I moved to Redbacks because I have a high instep, and the pressure across the top of my foot in the Blundstones made my toes go numb. Redbacks were better. Quit wearing them, though because they were so hard to find.
I noticed quality of Blunnies going down several years ago and bought a pair of Redbacks. Oddly…I think they made my back ache. I know - weird right? I swapped back to wearing my Blunnies and back ache dissappeared. I was sad as I wanted to love the Redbacks!
