BOA Hoof Boot Shield Caps

I lost (well, they are here, somewhere) the caps for my gelding’s boots. I have not had to use them in years, but the ground has turned to concrete with nasty craters and he’s hurting without the boots. I am using them without the caps (I put duct tape over the dials) but would love to find replacements for them.

I have discovered that Boa makes all kinds of dial boots - golf, ski, hiking, hunting, helmets, etc. Quite the company, I must say. But I am struggling to find the equine version!

Of course once I figure out how to order them, I will find the ones here at home…

I had some with my Boas, but I donated the boots (and their caps) to a therapeutic riding and driving program years ago. I used them without the caps at times, and didn’t put anything on them in place of the caps. They didn’t seem to come loose any quicker than they did with the caps. That’s to say, they loosened up all.the.time and drove me nuts having to stop and tighten them.

I think Boa’s equine line was bought years ago by EasyCare, and they still have some Boa accessories on their website, although not the shield caps.

Depending on how much you’re willing to pay, there seem to be a few listing on EBay for used Boas. You could probably buy them and just transfer the cap!

Thanks all…I don’t want to buy more boots - I don’t think. If I do, I’ll have to investigate what’s new now. He’s not needed them for years. He’s got thin soles, but it’s been under control enough with good nutrition, trimming, and Hoof Armor. I can hardly walk out in the pastures - the clay dried so fast that it didn’t have a chance to level out.

I still have extra caps somewhere. I had two pairs and never lost a cap. I’ll see if I can find them for you.

A friend of mine got some through Easy Care a few years ago. They aren’t on their website, but maybe call and see if they have some.

I looked in a couple of places with no luck. I’ve got one more place to look tomorrow. It’s irritating me because I remember seeing them fairly recently and wondering what they were before seeing the Boa logo.
