My horse and I will be officially moving to San Antonio next May. I am hoping to find some boarding recommendations for the NW San Antonio and Boerne area. My horse and I are definitely hunters, but I am open to other jumping disciplines as long as they further our education. As my horse is a little green, a trainer with experience in that area would be nice. I would also appreciate some local showing opportunities. Thanks!
when looking at stabling just be aware that specific area is well known as one of the worse flash flood areas of the entire US

Russell Equestrian Center does hunters. Col. Russell died in 2020, but it looks like his son carries it on. They have a website, not sure how updated it is. Also, it’s been 6 years since I lived there, so things may have changed. That’s all I remember off the top of my head. I boarded at a small private barn, but the owner rode dressage and there were no resident trainers or jumps.
Looks like Ashley Hammill (dressage) is in Boerne. I think I showed a few times at Marcos Stables, remember it being nice. There is a Texas H/J Association that might have some resources.
You can try the Texas H/J Assn: https://www.thja.org. But, there aren’t many here (I live in Bulverde—just east of Boerne). I’ve ridden with Claudia Conn at Twisted Oak Farm and have a LOT of respect for her. 830-980-3055. There is also a Libera Equus Show Jumpers stable listed at THJA, with Lana Buysse in Boerne, but I don’t know anything about them. Like I said—there isn’t much here! If you’re looking for a super dressage teacher, I ride with Erin Bell, 210-870-3953. She’s helped me put some great basics on my OTTBs, even though I would consider myself more of a H/J rider.
Oh and one other possibility: Colleen Brombach at Silver Fox Farms. 512-847-2105, although she’s in Wimberly, so it would be a drive from Boerne.
And it seems like Oakwell Farms 210-826-9468 in San Antonio might be back open. They had been closed for a long time.
