Boarding and Lessons near Winchester/Upperville, VA

Another boarding barn search is underway. I’m contemplating another relocation, this time to Northern VA! I’ve found a few recommendations on here for top notch h/j training barns in Upperville and Middleburg, but I’m looking for something a little more affordable. A great group of young (30-40ish year old) professionals would be fantastic so I could maybe make friends at the same time. Covered arena, stall board (with plenty of turnout), lessons, and <$2k/month for full-care doable in the area? There have to be more options than Laredo

Kama Godek LLC in Aldie! Great people, facilities, care, and within your budget! https://www.show-jumper.com

Depending on what your radius is, you might want to check out Clairvaux in Leesburg! Lots of working ammies, and you couldn’t ask for a more supportive, encouraging, fun group to hang out with. Great care, great facilities, great training, goes to a range of shows all over, and in your budget. Can’t say enough good things!

I’ll put both of these on my list to visit! Thank you!

Beverly Equestrian in Middleburg is home to Caroline Adams. Shes a great Hunter Jumper training and offers boarding/lessons in a fantastic facility. I am not sure what her rates are now. Kama Godek in Aldie at Ohana Equestrian Preserve is also well known.

Jess Fortin in Purcellville is fabulous, and she works with all budgets. I believe a lesson with Kama runs $125+ which adds up quickly if you’re on a budget. There’s no indoor at Jess’s farm, but there is a lighted outdoor - which somehow seems to maintain perfect footing even in all the rain recently. Amazing program and the horses are always managed impeccably, whether it’s a yearling TB or Amice Z (one of her finds/imports).

Jess is actually part of the article about Amice in the August 6-13 issue of the Chronicle - page 98-100.

I can’t recommend her enough.

I second Jess Fortin and Cut2Chase Farm. Impeccable care and great people

Kama Godek, located at O’Hana in Aldie, is excellent. In barn lessons are $75, ship-ins $125. The facility is gorgeous and perfectly located for access to Middleburg and West, and the metro DC area. Take a look!!
